Wigwood is one of the most fabulously outrageous festivals in the world. Taking over Miami for two days in February, it attracts A-list Hollywood talent and names from across the international drag scene to party with locals and revel in outlandish costumes, music, and club nights. Wigwood isn’t just a party – it’s also a platform for activist groups to discuss gay rights issues both locally and globally.

At the edge of the continental U.S., Miami is becoming a mecca for the weird and the unusual. Wigwood is playing off this energy. In a city defined by migration and tourism, the theme of alien invasion meets hedonistic tropical vacation is itself tongue-in-cheek. The three-day event is more than a festival, rather a “queer cultural revolution.”

Wigwood has expanded to take over several Miami venues, including Club Space and Gramps for evening parties and a cool off Sunday at Broken Shaker on Miami Beach.
